Although it was rainy, our Sinulog getaway sure was memorable. We started to roam around the city at 1:00 pm although it was planned at 7 in the morning, all decided to skip it and rested for a while. Ever since I was a kid our daily routine was to attend first the Procession, which is always a day before the Sinulog Mardigra.
As we got out of the house, we were welcomed by a line of passengers and jeepneys stuck in the traffic. Watching jeepneys and passengers waiting for a chance to move an inch made us decide to walk. Walking along the empty high way made me reminisce about the things I had done during my elementary days. Back in those days, me and my friends used to walk a kilometer away from school just to enjoy arcade games. I save almost half of my daily baon so I could play Dragon Ball Z on a coin-operated supernes modified arcade, or in our term "Hulug-hulug piso".
We arrived at our first destination, the Basilica del Sto. Niño. Like all fiesta it wouldn't be complete with out offering a candle so we decided to do it first before everything and walked from Panganiban to Magallanes. I remembered last time, Jade and I almost suffocated due to the number of people crowding the streets near the entrance of the Basilica. Although it was the same, we managed to find a good route towards the Main entrance. Getting towards there was easy, but getting out was a challenge. After we offered candles we head towards our next destination Colon St.
Colon St was full of vendors, all kinds of stuff was there. I even got myself a buckle and a couple of anime DVD's which was only Php 10.00 each. The most beautiful part of it was food. Yes, all kind of street food was around. If you are on diet then don't ever come to there because you'll just give in to the temptation.
After a countless kwek-kwek balls consumed, we head to our next destination, Fuente Osmeña. But before getting there, we must cross a barricade of crowd watching the Street Dance starting from High-Way on towards Ramos St. We managed to got around that part easily, (hint: there are less people on Ramos St and you can easily get across).
Fuente was our last destination, we mana Although tiring, the atmosphere there was pure fun. We stopped by at the park to eat someged to get snapshots of the thing happening there. Barbeque. We also got ourselves freebies.
After a tiring event, we started to walk our way home, but before our adventure ended we got the chance to see the fireworks display at abellana.
ahhhhhh, mao diay na si sir wing.. ahihihi...
