The 3.5-inch floppy disk finally come to its end as internationally known company SONY announced the stoppage of its production to give way to its memory card products availability. It hasn’t been long since the memory cards appeared and it has been increasingly in demand all over the world as many digital gadgets embraces its use.
The floppy disk began to their what so called beginning-of-the-end tenure when the USB arrived in the market and when DELL computers stopped manufacturing floppy disk drives to their computers in the year 2003. We can’t deny the fact that USB stores more of our data than the bulky and wide flatted floppy disk during those times (I’m talking about the long past). Since then, floppy disk never stopped going downwards as USB and Memory sticks continue to invade the floppy empire.
As we can recall, there were also a time when the 5.25-inch disk has had its limelight not until it was replaced by smaller 3.5inch floppy disk, and now, the time finally comes for the 3.5-inch floppy to bid its goodbye to the portable storage world.
Goodbye 3.5-inch floppy disk, you been useful to us, but you have reached your toll.
Welcome Terabyte storage devices.
