Government anyone?

It's such pity to see people who are homeless, who sleep on the dark corners of the street, nothing but just thin clothes to protect them from the cold night. Watching them crushed my inner feelings at the same time created grudges.

If only I could do something about it, If only I could make their lives easier so that they can appreciate living. I guess I could only whisper on my mind and take a deep sigh before I continue to walk.

Knowing that this street children together with their parents are battling a more extreme survival dilemma than other ordinary people. Trying to eat 3 times a day is really a tough challenge for them, especially if the family is composed of more than 3 kids.

What certain actions that the government has done to it's citizens? I don't even see any feeding programs at all. I could not stand witnessing kids eating leftovers early in the morning for breakfast. Some of them would rather sleep since their's no food to suffice their hunger.

While the government is so busy with other issues, unfortunate people are ignored and set aside. They pay their taxes everyday with their hard earned labor work. Yes you heard that right they people pay taxes! even if they are just earning 50-100 pesos a day. The food and other needs they purchase are taxable and that's a main proof that they are paying.

This is a sick reality and quite obvious not to be noticed. A simple logic that Sen: Chiz Escudero said.

  "Lahat ng mga nagnakaw ng milyon o bilyon sa pamahalaan nasa ospital, iyong mganagnakaw ng cellphone at wallet, nasa kulungan"

Translation: All those who stole millions or billions from the government are in the hospital, those who stole cellphone and wallet are in jail.


Isn't it ironic right? Did you see the huge gap or difference of justice? I bet it's understandable how things are done at the moment.

Things To Do And Be Aware During Sinulog

One of the most celebrated festivals in the Philippines would be Sinulog. And a lot of things you should prepare if you want to enjoy it. One of it would be preparing physically and faithfully. Don't forget to light a candle in Basilica del Santo Niño and say your prayers.

Before you go out crazy over the street party because a lot of things that will be there to entertain us. This things might be considered for safety purposes:

• Wear Shoes  - Let's face it and lets be practical about it this one. Expect the streets to be crowded during day time. So wearing shoes would be the best thing to do since random accidents like someone would stomped your feet. Shoes would protect your feet at the same time giving it comfort. Especially during night time when the streets are getting wet and wild due to the parties happening everywhere.

• Bring Extra Clothes - Bringing extra clothes is really a necessity when it comes to Sinulog. Rain or shine you need to bring extra. And yes you are attending a party but not that casual type. You are attending a city party were in the entire city of cebu is attending. So bring some extra clothes for hygiene purposes just in case you will be sweating badly. Or in worse cases some random drunk dude would puke on you.

• Bring Extra Pocket Money - Practically the purposes of this one would be for emergency reasons. Since you can never tell the things that might happen so it would be better to be prepared.

• Walky Talky - Sounds new right? actually it's not but this would be the best and effective way to communicate to others. If you will rely on your cellphone to contact your friends forget about it. Networks would be busy and your messages would arrive at their inbox with no ETA. Although you can use your tablets and login to facebook or other social media to contact people. But then again your a first target to those people who have bad intentions on your gadgets.

• Bring a camera - I did say above that you will be the target of those culprits that would have interest on your gadgets. But at least we should be very careful of our things and don't just leave them unattended. Having a camera during this occasion would be the best thing to have since you can capture memories. Pictures and videos would be the best thing you can retrieve after the party is over.

And the best thing to remember is to enjoy the celebration!

Google Maps Street View Update - Walk on other countries streets in an instant

Some new changes and features of Google maps had been implemented. One of them would be the street view of a certain location you want to check. Want to know how? since it's really cool and you can travel to other places in an instant.

As soon as the map loads it gave me command options on my left screen: (Please see pic below)

• The zoom in and zoom out button -  This command allows you to zoom in and zoom out the current map that you are viewing. And it's quite useful when you want to see the overview of a certain place. You can zoom out a certain location when you want to look at things more wider.  While the zoom in allows you to focus and increase it's function. It allows you to zoom in to a specific location when you want to know a certain street or address.
• Yellow Peg man - You can drag the yellow peg man on the current location you want to gain a street view. If you do this this will give you a street view result(please see pic below).

Now you can go to those favorite places you want by just typing the address and search it on Google. Take a walk and be able to see the places you have not seen. 

But it only works for limited countries at the moment. Some places/countries haven't had this street view, I think Google is still having an ongoing development for this. So that other countries can have a street view feature just like others.

Kid Conductor

It was a rainy morning when I left home around 5:50 am heading for work. As I was approaching near a jeepney stop where I usually ride. A parked jeepney was already waiting for passengers, So I immediately find a place to sit.

When I sat down near the exit I noticed that the conductor was a child, he was around 8-9 years old. I noticed that he lack some rest because of his sleepy eyes. While the vehicle was running the rain poured more.

It's December 23,2013 and this kid is awake as early as he could trying to earn money. Wet and feeling cold as he chills from time to time he continue to collect jeepney fare's. I was assuming that the driver was his father.

Tomorrow would be December 24, 2013 and hours from that it would be Christmas Eve. I don't know how long this child be working for this day. I bet he wants to earn a lot so that he can buy something as a gift to himself. And also want to contribute so that they will have some foods on their table during Christmas Eve.

I can see he's getting cold since his legs started shaking. But he keep chanting for passengers when the vehicle would reach a certain jeepney stop. I was thinking on the outcome of this child on tomorrow's celebration.

• Instead of sleeping in a warm bed and woke up with a milk. He is here on the streets doing a child labor and assisting the driver. 
• Instead of getting excited to unwrap his gift while waiting for Christmas Eve. He is on the streets asking passengers about their jeepney fare.
• Instead of playing with their relatives when the night comes. He is working overtime with his driver to earn enough money.

Not all child are lucky since others are born with this kind of reality. Other's would be chanting and caroling Christmas songs. While others would be selling rags, newspapers and cigarette's early in the morning.

2013 - A Year of Disaster

It has been a wild ride in the ending months of year 2012 due to the disaster that happened. I was thinking lately about that "END OF THE WORLD" stuffs. Since everyone was just paranoid on whats going on at the moment.

EARTHQUAKE

It all started with a strong earthquake that hit Bohol last October 15, 2013. I would not forget that morning since I was still lying in bed. It was around 8:30 am when it all started. Lying flat in bed feeling lazy to get up  when things were really starting to fall. With the killer instinct on my mind I immediately ran outside the house for safety purposes.

At that moment I composed a text message and sent it to my parents.

"Kusog linog dri paps...ok ramo diha ni mama?"
Dad a strong earthquake happened now are you both ok with mom?

While some of our neighbors were outside screaming, yelling and even crying. As they feel the tremors and strong shake. I was able to send the text message and then realized I was only wearing my boxers LOL!.

And the aftershocks would be felt every now and then. Believe it or not it lasted more then 2 months which I was able to get used to it. But some aftershocks are really annoying and would occur unexpectedly. Some instances were in I was caught in the middle of the church.

While praying after lighting a candle in Sto. Niño an aftershock just happened. A moment of silence was felt and you can feel the silent sound of worried people. Luckily the aftershock stopped right away, if not the whole crowd would be on mass hysteria.

The outcome of that earthquake would be devastating. As it crushed and destroyed infrastructures like churches, roads, buildings and almost anything.

And until now when Christmas is approaching some slight tremors and afters shocks can still be felt.

SUPER TYPHOON YOLANDA

Fully charge gadgets including phone for communication purposes

On November 7, 2013 Yolanda unleashed it's wrath on Leyte and some parts of Cebu. Before the landfall a calm weather before the storm was experienced.

The weather was so hot and there was no air that can be felt by our skin. During these times I was keeping in touch with my parents.

The moment Yolanda struck Leyte the last text I received from my dad was.

"Uwan na diha? Kusog na kaayo uwan dri og hangin. Nag brownout npud"
Is it raining in their? Strong winds and rain are going on right now and a total blackout.

I got this text message around 4 am. And could not reply since the communications were down. I had no information and status update from my parents for the past 4 days.

On the other hand I was not able to take a bath for 2 1/2 days. Because their was no water supply, but didn't mind that since what's important is that I have something to eat and drink.

Yolanda washed the whole Tacloban city. Leaving it like a ghost town, similar to a wrecked cemetery. A progressive city was replaced with a weeping sight. Survivors don't know what to do after the aftermath and dead bodies where everywhere.  An estimated of 10k deaths were feared as the death counts rises.

Thanks to other countries that helped the victims of Yolanda. It was really a warm relief that huge help was approaching. Almost all countries around the world offered help both financially and other sorts of necessity. The goal was to help Tacloban rise back again after a tragic calamity.

1,000,000 Reach Kageron Facebook Fan Page

A milestone was reached while checking the kageron fan page. When the post was published it gained a lot of viewers. In one day it reached 44k viewers and it was rapidly increasing.

As hours and days passed by it just keeps adding more reach. As it went viral more and more people are coming back and commenting on it. So the post made a staggering 1,000,448 reach which we were not expecting.

Grats to the people who love the joke and meme stuffs. Don't worry folks we would do more of those kind of stuffs to entertain without any cost.

It's more like of a part time leisure that we post and share jokes. Especially when combined with an open beer =).

Sarcasm On!

I just don't seem to understand that some people are quite sensitive. And they just jump on certain conclusion. In fact they're reasons for a certain conclusion is obviously pathetic.

Upon justifying the reason you will end up saying "WTF??" or "SERIOUSLY???".  When it comes to work related stuffs and someone's pride is at stake. A JOKE is different from a JOKE + WITH SENSE since they are totally different.

Witnessing this kind of unjustified reason(s) is quite ironic. Since the abuse of power would be the main reason that would trigger everything. And pride comes along with this decision mixed with sarcasm attitude.

If a certain person could not handle someone's attitude it's not even a problem. Especially if a certain behavior would not affect the work. Being funny and for the sake of entertainment is not a big deal.

• Is it a concern about a certain attitude when these people are the assets of your company? When it's obvious that jokes are meant to ease tension.

• Why can't their attitude be disparaged when they are productive?

• Why it's an issue about their behavior in fact they are effective with their assigned task?

• Why be alarmed on how they act inside the office when they are just being real?

Passing judgement because you can't tame someone is merely unprofessional. Doing such act would only describe a certain person as a satire kind.

To make things clear ignore those nonsense stuffs when a false ego is bumped. I hope this kind of greedy and selfish people should be quartered and hanged.

Hug For Yolanda near Sto. Niño

Another typical Sunday afternoon after I lighted a candle and say a prayer in Sto. Niño. When I got out of the church the first thing that I want to do was to eat munchkins.

So I immediately look for that Swedish guy selling munchkins nearby. After 5-10 minutes of searching I couldn't find the person.

So I decided to go home, and when I was about to turn left near city savings bank building(P Burgos St.). I noticed a group of people having a placards.  When I read the stuffs written on the placard it said. "HUGS FOR YOLANDA VICTIMS 1 HUG ANY AMOUNT OF DONATION".

I thought they were protesting about something. Until I realize what they are doing when I read what was written on their placard. So other people and by passers who noticed it would participate. From kids and adults they would share a hug.

Collapsing Core

How do you fix something that keeps breaking?

How do you expand when things are filled empty?

How do you establish when the core is collapsing?

These are just some few questions that's bothering my mind. I could find any solutions even if I sip a mug of pure black coffee. All I see are vague scenarios which would happen.  No matter how I try hard to understand and determine the outcome I still see uncertainty.

Isn't it ironic that fixing something that keeps breaking is a waste of effort. It's like a glass that has been shattered. And then you try to pick it up, assemble it again by placing glues on it. But what's the outcome? Of course it's not the same in the first place. Since the broken lines are visible and clear even though it was assembled again.

 Another scenario would be expanding. How will you expand when the moment you attempt to do it. Another certain point gets vacant. No matter how you try to move things another spot gets empty. It's an infinite process that would result to struggles.

When you try to expand try to establish the core first. Build a strong foundation so that you will have tranquility. Rest assure that your foundation is solid to embrace challenges.

I see things unpractical when facing this scenarios. Trust,efforts are useless while promises are turned to lies. These are just the common truth about it.

 Someones people that are too over confident are the one's that are holding grief. People who are showy are the pure liars. Bastards as I call them and all I do care was to see them being possessed.

Dispatcher Wearing Rollerblades

After lighting a candle in Sto. Niño and saying my prayers while heading to cathedral to ride a jeepney going to SM. I saw a dispatcher on the road wearing a cap and carrying a bag. But the thing that made him unique was that he was wearing rollerblades.

While he keeps yelling(taxi..taxi..) he also demonstrates simple tricks. A rare kind of dispatcher since usually they have different attire. Basically they will wear only slippers but this one is different.

The dispatcher would cruise his way while crossing the streets. It seems it's effortless for him to go to other places.

I don't know why he was dressed like this but as I watched him transfer from places to places he seemed to enjoy what he is doing.

Swedish National Selling Munchkins in Sto. Niño

I have read about this news before and at first I was not a believer. Not until I was a witness to myself last sunday at basilica del Sto. Niño church. After I prayed and lighted a candle I was gonna go to my friends house in Junquera.

There I saw a guy standing in front of the basilica del Sto. Niño below him was a small styro bucket. I knew it immediately that he was that Swedish guy from the news. So I approached him and instantly purchase some of his munchkins.

They felt very good since I could taste the sweetness and the pure flavoring on it. But it was the opposite on the situation of this Swedish vendor.

I couldn't help but feel pity and have some sympathy towards him. He was standing all alone in the midst of the hot sun. It was around 2pm when I checked the time. Sweating but hopeful that his munchkins would soon be sold out.

You could just see his struggles just to survive and earn some spare income. His munchkin is sold 2.50 pesos each. So probably his highest pay would be around 200 to 300 pesos a day.   I've heard about his stories and I was saddened also on what happened. It was not what he wanted but still he is trying his best to live.

I could not just imagine how it would be difficult for him on his daily needs. Since I even find my self having adversity when I am not still married. So much more to him when he is a nomad to this corrupt country.

I felt bad for the guy since his life went upside down. After some random greedy fiance took advantage of his financial status.  On that day the only thing I can do was offer a little help by purchasing some of his munchkin.

Both these two trendy gadgets are still very useful in our current technology. Laptop's and Netbook's had been the second go to device next to your computer. But now tablets are available we can either choose what to use depending on our needs.

Well based on some experiences all I can say that Tablets have an edge over Laptop's and Netbooks nowadays. Recently Tablets are leading when it comes to the services the users are getting.

Work in an instant - When you are using your laptop or netbook the first thing you should do is switch it on. And then you have to wait for it to load to your desktop before you can start. When you are using your tablet it's totally different. Just one click on the button presto! you can start right away.

Traveling - When people are traveling one common rule is followed. "Travel light" bring what you need along the way and if you are a constant traveler tablets would suffice your needs. Practically who wants to bring a bulky laptop with it's charger while traveling for long hours. Plus Tablets are more light compared to laptops and netbook's.

Battery Life Span -  This aspect I assume tablets definitely owned this one. The battery life span of continuous usage around 10 hours. We all know that laptop's and netbooks can have unlimited usage if you directly plug the cord as the source of power. But that's a different story and does not apply when you are traveling.

Heavy applications - Well in this part laptops are way ahead when it comes to tablets. Since laptops are designed to have heavy system requirement's from applications.

Keyboard - When it comes to this part it's a tie and both devices are equal. Since tablets can use a keyboard by inserting it on the USB port. And laptops/netbooks also have built in keyboard for the users to use.

The Good Impact of Social Media

These days people are hooked up with social media sites. People are starting to be active on these kind of community which exist online. From Facebook, twitter, Google+, ask.fm,youtube and many more. These are just some of the common sites that people are getting active lately.

Social media boost a lot of attention and the community existed online due to thousands of new users registering. The impact of it is quite staggering especially when it comes to news. A certain issue can go viral in a matter of minutes. Either that news would be criticized or be appreciated as long as it's been talked about.

In a matter of minutes the news would go around the globe and circulate quickly. Some internet issues that would go viral are scandals, rare videos etc. These kind of stuffs that captures the users/people attention online.

How To Avoid ATM Skimmers

A lot of people are now victims of this syndicate that has been a huge bum. This issues is really quite alarming since if you are careless your money will be taken away. Atm skimming is a critical issue for people and also for the bank.
It doesn't randomly hit individuals but only those irresponsible atm holders. People who are not careful enough on the places and ATM they withdraw are the common victims.

SO WHAT IS ATM CARD SKIMMING?

Copying the information of your atm using a magnetic strip without the consent of the owner. The information details would be used to create a fake/clone atm card. And when the necessary information are now being stolen the next phase would be stealing your savings.

How the procedure works?

Scammers attach skimming devices the same size of the ATM/Credit Card. And when the user inserts the card it captures the information. At the same time when scammers also installed different devices to capture the PIN number of the card user.

Usually scammers would use small camera to record the 4 digit pin. Or they also alter the keypad by inserting a fake keypad that automatically saves the Pin number of the user.

How To Avoid being an ATM SKIMMING VICTIM?

• Be responsible and careful enough when you withdraw
• Cover the keypad the moment you will type your secret pin combination
• Don't withdraw on those rarely guarded Atm machines. Since scammers can easily install anything they want on those ATM's without security/bank authorities interference.
• Try to touch the keypad and try mo move it. Since if something is attached on it(fake keypad) you will notice it.
• Wipe the keypad or use a tissue after you use the ATM machine.
• Inspect the ATM and other areas for unusual appearance 
• If anything is suspicious on that ATM machine find another one and don't transact.

Importance of System Restore

Here are some of the reasons why System Restore is quite useful and helpful.

1.)When you get into sort of trouble like being infected with a virus today. And in worse scenario your anti-virus can't remove/heal the infected files. Stop trying to fix things the hard way since you can restore your computer the day when it was working properly. Or when it was not being infected by viruses and marlware's.

• Scan your computer with your updated Anti Virus. Some anti virus can't detect and can't fix a certain virus especially if the anti-virus is not updated.
• Install another anti-virus and try to fix/remove the trojan, worm,virus, malware. (usually you need to install it during safe mode. Since some virus would not allow you to install new programs when your unit is infected)
• Use System Restore
• Reformat your computer(Last resort when all else fail)

At least you added another option and choice in your steps in fighting off this viruses and malwares. Since no one wants to do that formatting procedure that would delete your important files.

And in just a click your computer would be working the same day you left it. And it would be back to normal so that you can continue using it.

How Terrible are captcha now a days?

One of the most annoying things on the internet today are this random generated captcha. I know the purpose for it but is it really necessarily to be hard?

I came to realize this captch thing is gonna kill the users on the internet. It can turn off user friendly interest at the same time it makes a site's interaction worse. Websites that would allow visitors to comment would find it difficult if you have this kind of captcha.

It's really a bit hard to read and figure the things being shown. And the worse part is that their is no button to generate another captcha. The text are blurry and you can't even zoom it in.

Seriously how are you gonna input this kind of captcha? This consumes a lot of time and users would loss interest on a certain site because of this. And if the site is an ecommerce site it could be one of the reason that the sales would drop down.

Who would purchase their items on that certain site when it all gives to the users are pain in the eyes. Seeing this impossible captch to solve and read makes someone irritated for a while.

Smart Gilas Philippines Defeated South Korea of FIBA Asia 2013

The team Philippines will advance to the finals in FIBA Asia 2013 after defeating South Korea in a classic and passionate game. From start to the end it was a heart pounding game as the fans would seemingly enjoy every bit of action. Before Smart Gilas would face Iran in the Championship match they have to face a familiar foe in the court.

This rivalry  between Philippines and Korea has been one of the best games that FIBA Asia would have. Ever since from the start when these two teams collide you would expect one of the most thrilling games you will ever see.

Philippines men's basketball would always come up short when they are facing South Korea. And history tells it all from heart breaking loss to those controversial scenarios.

But this time it was different when the Philippine team would be relentless. Playing with a big heart and a hunger to peel off from those bitter past short comings.

For the past encounters between this two nations heart breaking loss are always felt by the Filipinos. All those bitter and heart fainting loss before just flashed out from my head.

Those memories were in clutch and crucial moments that could make your mouth shiver. How many times did South Korea bash the Filipino mens basketball team with in your face defeats. And for this game I thought it would be the same ending.

As soon as the game started the Philippines were troubled and were facing tremendous pressure. Naturalize player Marcus Douthit was forced to sit on the bench due to his injury as early as the first quarter. Other big men of the Philippines were also facing mild injuries such as De Ocampo and Pingris.

But the team played all out and gave all what they have. A very exciting game from start to finish neither each team would not give up. Both team would showcase their respond to whatever the opponent would bring into the court. From 3 points to jump shots and even blitz fast break points both of them would implement that.

The Philippine team being undersized would try to tight up their defense. Marc Pingris would take those rebounds while limping with his injury. While Jason Castro would set on an offensive blaze and rally to give Gilas the lead.

On the ending part of the game more comrades from Gilas would step up and contirbute. Ranidel De Ocampo would be the coolest guy that would execute his offense. Every play he makes would be as smooth as he make his offense work.

South Korea would hang on and could convert a 4 point play courtesy of Kim Min-Goo(#4) so the score is 73-72 in the dying minutes of the 4th quarter.  And then Gilas could not answer back with their own play while a fast break dunk was executed by LEE SJ. So when the Koreans took the lead(74-73) and all I can say was that "Here we go again..... a choke ending". 

On the returning play of Gilas they still can't convert and a foul was called on Pingris. Lee Seung-Jun(#14) would split his free throws so the score would be 75-73. Silence was felt inside the arena and seemingly worried faces are a common sight.

Gary David finally explodes! Gilas defeats Kazakhstan

Gary "El Granada" David had his best game on his life in the FIBA Asia 2013. The local hero finally explodes with his offense arsenal. Gary David started the game with an explosion sinking his first 3 shots beyond the arc. Every shot that Gary would make the crowd would roar louder.

Gilas would rally in the first quarter and pile up their lead easily. Gary David found his range and continued to explode his offensive arsenal. It took a while for Gary to get rid of his slum games when the Fiba Asia cup started.  The long awaited explosive needs that the fans were waiting finally happened in front of their eyes.

"Nagliliyab na kamay" Flaming hands said the commentator was also excited watching David's great performance. One of the most explosive players in PBA David Finally woke up and helped his team to win as the fans appreciated what he has done.

The benefit of shooting your basket consecutively is something that a player can build is confidence. Since as you keep making your shoot your confidence keeps on growing and developing. And that's what happened to Gary David's performance when he finally got his touch and game going on.
