Pride

Is it pride when you lower your shoulders and sigh?

Is it pride when shut your mouth?

Is it pride when you keep silent so avoid hurtful words to be spoken?

Is it pride when silent tears shore down and not a bit of anger is attached?

Is it pride when you swallow the blame?

Is it pride when you sacrifice?

Is it pride when you grit your teeth and maintain calmness?

So many things in this world when all you can do is know them one by one. Some of them become close friends while others become common enemies. Some many situations in this world and you could just wonder why you were the one who is chosen to face and solve it.

I just some answers come up late or when everything is almost over. Some answers do come in time or just pass by. All you do is turn your head up high and continue walking.

Mayweather chickened out???

Recently, Mayweather recorded a videotape stating that he will take a year or two off boxing to concentrate on his boxing gym.

Could this mean that Mayweather chickened out against the pound-for-pound boxing king Manny Pacquiao? That's a possibility and he might just be making an excuse to avoid that great fight everyone has been waiting, and the proving grounds of who really is the best pound-for-pound boxer of the world.

Mayweather - Pacquiao fight has been a talked ever since Pacquiao beat Miguel Cotto in the Dallas Stadium. Since then, the talks has been so intensive and during the first result, Mayweather end up wanting Pacquiao to undergo Olympic style drug testing in which the pound-for-pound king did not accept because of the reason that the process might affect his performance during the fight. Hence, the fight did not push through, instead, Pacquiao fought Ghanian Joshua Clottey wherein Pacquiao dominated the fight and destroyed the ultimate defense of Clottey. And in the other end, Mayweather fought Shane Mosley. Mayweather won the fight via unanimous decision.

After the Pacquiao - Clottey bout, the Mayweather - Pacquiao ultimate fight floats again. The team Pacquiao agreed to give what Mayweather is requiring but now Mayweather is telling that he wants to retire for a while in boxing.

Now, big names are emerging in line to fight Manny Pacquiao which includes Antonio Margarito, Juan Manuel Marquez and the to-be-negotiated rematch of Miguel Cotto and Pacquiao. "-the weight is too heavy-" according to one of the Team Pacquiao members when asked if they would also consider Yuri Foreman in the 154lbs. division. As for Mayweather, there is nothing waiting for him if he keeps on evading the megafight everyone wants to see. "it will not happen because of mayweather" - as one boxing commentator stated during the match of Yuri Foreman and Miguel Cotto.

Lame excuses are just for losers.

Hybrid Animals

In the modern times, animals which holds territorial grounds sometimes interacts with one that is not of its kind, thus, cross breed or hybrid animals born. The offspring share traits and attitude from both parent species and is said to be more dominant than their parents.

Here are some of the hybrid animals which will surely amaze the hell out of you.

Zebroid

A zebroid is the offspring of a cross between a zebra and any other equine, usually a horse or a donkey. There are zorses, zonkeys, zonies, and a host of other combinations.

Zebroids are an interesting example of hybrids bred from species that have a radically different number of chromosomes. For instance, horses have 64 chromosomes and zebra have between 32 and 44 (depending on species). Even so, nature finds a way.

Savannah Cats

Savannah cats are the name given to the offspring of a domestic cat and a serval — a medium-sized, large-eared wild African cat. The unusual cross became popular among breeders at the end of the 20th century, and in 2001 the International Cat Association accepted it as a new registered breed.

Interestingly, savannahs are much more social than typical domestic cats, and they are often compared to dogs in their loyalty. They can be trained to walk on a leash and even taught to play fetch.

Ligers

Ligers are the cross of a male lion and a female tiger, and they are the largest of all living cats and felines. Their massive size may be a result of imprinted genes which are not fully expressed in their parents, but are left unchecked when the two different species mate. Some female ligers can grow to 10 feet in length and weigh more than 700 pounds.

Ligers are distinct from tigons, which come from a female lion and male tiger. Various other big cat hybrids have been created too, including leopons (a leopard and a lion mix), jaguleps (a jaguar and leopard mix), and even lijaguleps (a lion and jagulep mix).

Wholphins

A cross between a false killer whale and an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin, wholphins are hybrids that have been reported to exist in the wild. There are currently two in captivity, both at Sea Life Park in Hawaii.

The wholphin's size, color, and shape are intermediate between the parent species. Even their number of teeth is mixed; a bottlenose has 88 teeth, a false killer whale has 44 teeth, and a wholphin has 66.

Grolar bears

The offspring of a grizzly bear and a polar bear, a grolar bear is one beast you don't want to meet in the woods. Interestingly, unlike many hybrid animals on this list, grolar bears are known to occur naturally in the wild.

Some experts predict that polar bears may be driven to breed with grizzly bears at an increased frequency due to global warming, and the fact that polar bears are being forced from their natural habitats on the polar ice.

Beefalo

Beefalo are the fertile offspring of domestic cattle and American bison. Crosses also exist between domestic cattle and European bison (zubrons) and yaks (yakows). The name given to beefalo might be the most suggestive, since the breed was purposely created to combine the best characteristics of both animals with an eye towards beef production.

A USDA study showed that beefalo meat, like bison meat, tends to be lower in fat and cholesterol. They are also thought to produce less damage to range-land than cattle.

3.5-inch floppy disk bids goodbye!!!

The 3.5-inch floppy disk finally come to its end as internationally known company SONY announced the stoppage of its production to give way to its memory card products availability. It hasn’t been long since the memory cards appeared and it has been increasingly in demand all over the world as many digital gadgets embraces its use.

The floppy disk began to their what so called beginning-of-the-end tenure when the USB arrived in the market and when DELL computers stopped manufacturing floppy disk drives to their computers in the year 2003. We can’t deny the fact that USB stores more of our data than the bulky and wide flatted floppy disk during those times (I’m talking about the long past). Since then, floppy disk never stopped going downwards as USB and Memory sticks continue to invade the floppy empire.

As we can recall, there were also a time when the 5.25-inch disk has had its limelight not until it was replaced by smaller 3.5inch floppy disk, and now, the time finally comes for the 3.5-inch floppy to bid its goodbye to the portable storage world.

Goodbye 3.5-inch floppy disk, you been useful to us, but you have reached your toll.

Welcome Terabyte storage devices.

First Tropical Depression - Agaton!!

In the start of year 2010, the Philippines were struck by a massive drought brought about by the natural calamity called El Niño. Up until now it is still a problem in the country which causes water dams to lose water supply for the people and later then affected the energy supply and stability of major places in the country.

Finally, the year’s first tropical depression, after 3 months of waiting for rains, has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). It was reported that as of 10am of March 25, 2010, the tropical depression, which they call AGATON, was last spotted at around 1,000 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar, Philippines.

According to PAGASA, Agaton is too far to affect any regions of the country and is possible that it might take a detour and will no longer hit the lands which will mean that there will still no rainfalls.

Al Gore's Asian Version of An Inconvenient Truth

Al Gore will be presenting in Manila, Philippines his great masterpiece that earned him lots of box-office acclaims entitled, "An Inconvenient Truth".

This convention will be entitled: "Al Gore: The Leader As Environment Steward." It will be held on April 30, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center in the SM Mall of Asia Complex.

"We have always been committed to environmental preservation. Beyond our many environmental programs, we feel that we can further spread the advocacy by having more people learn about this global problem and how it impacts each and every one of us. This is why we are bringing in the world's most influential authority on climate change. We want the urgency of his message to be heard by Filipino leaders, as well as by Filipinos in general," SM Prime Holdings President Hans Sy said in a statement.

Gore and his team was recently awarded the Noble Peace Prize in 2007 for the famous "An Inconvenient Truth." This made Gore a runner-up in the Time Magazine Person of the Year 2007.

Last year(2009), Gore won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for his book "An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It."

Mayon Volcano!!!

The Mayon volcano, which has blown its top nearly 40 times in 400 years, menaced nearby residents with small eruptions of ash and lava Wednesday as Philippine authorities moved more than 30,000 people to shelters in case of a larger eruption.

Trickles of lava rolled down the 8,070-foot (2,460-meter) mountain towering over the Albay Gulf in the central Philippines, while five new ash explosions, one of them reaching 550 yards (500 meters) in the air, shook Mayon's steep slopes, said chief state volcanologist Renato Solidum.

During the day, the summit is shrouded in white clouds of dust and ash, and dark orange lava becomes clearly visible in the nighttime. Residents of Legazpi city on the foothills of the cone-shaped mountain converge in a downtown park at night to watch the spectacle from a safe distance.

"There is the possibility that it can turn into the explosive phase of the eruption," Solidum told The Associated Press. "Right now, we cannot say for sure, but the initial phases of 2000, 2001 and 2006 eruptions are almost the same."

Lava cascades down the slopes of Mayon volcano in Legazpi city, Albay province, at dawn Tuesday Dec. 15, 2009 about 500 kilometers (310 miles) south of Manila, Philippines. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, PHIVOLCS, has raised the five-alert level to three following increased activity of the country's most active volcano and residents are prohibited from venturing into the 6-kilometer (4 miles) permanent danger zone. In December 2006 ash deposits from a previous eruption rolled down its slopes at the onslaught of a typhoon killing more than a thousand residents living around the cone-shaped volcano.

Provincial governor Salceda said he had decided to cancel a trip to Copenhagen, where he was to attend the U.N. climate conference to discuss his province's experience with typhoons and other natural disasters.

He said he would appeal for foreign aid to deal with the expected influx of displaced villagers to emergency shelters.

"Whatever the volcano does, our target is zero casualty," Salceda told The Associated Press.

Magma had been rising at the volcano over the past two weeks and began to flow out of its crater Monday night, Solidum said. He said the volcano had so far only gently coughed out red-hot lava, which had flowed half a mile (half a kilometer) down from the crater.

Some classes were suspended indefinitely near the danger zone. Officials will find a way to squeeze in classes in school buildings to be used as shelters, Salceda said.

Mayon's most violent eruption, in 1814, killed more than 1,200 people and buried a town in mud.

The Philippines lies along the Pacific "Ring of Fire," where volcanic activity and earthquakes are common. About 22 out of 37 volcanos in the archipelago are active.

Accept it! Math is difficult!

Over the years, in my former college life, I always bump to Math problems and to be honest, it wasn’t that comfortable having those kind of situations. You get to play with numbers instead of toys. Though, I always tell myself that in every math problems there will always be math answers, may it be math word problems or math numerical problems I am rest assured that I will always have a corresponding answer to those.

Algebra 2 was one of my worst nightmares during college. All these equations and solution, darn! It’s giving me headaches. Then one of my superior in work advised me to seek for Algebra help, and so I did.

I sat down in my computer at the office and searched over the net for any Algebra 2 help. Luckily, I found lots of them. There were lots that there was even algebra word problems presented and I thought it was way harder than what I was looking for and so I decided to skip it. I browsed as many pages as I can and studied somehow. I tried solving sample equations over the tutorials, some I got right, and some I end up wrong. But nevertheless, I learned a lot from the internet for my algebra class.

Math was hard, no doubt! But it’s worth the learning.

Additional Ray of the Mighty Philippine Flag

Senate Bill (SB) 3307 and House Bill (HB) 6424 states the inclusion of yet another ray of the Philippine flags’ sun. The two bills proposed the amendments to Republic Act. 849, or An Act of Prescribing the Code of the National Flag, Anthem, Motto, Coat-of-Arms and Other Heraldic Items and Devices of the Philippines.

The bill was approved by the Bicameral Committee reasoning that the additional ray of the sun in the Philippine flag symbolizes the bravery, courage and integrity of Muslim Filipinos who fought for our country’s independence. The principal author of the bill, Senator Richard Gordon, stated that it would strengthen the unity among Filipinos regardless of religions and beliefs.

The three stars of the Philippine Flag symbolizes the three major geographical division of the country: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao; and the eight rays of the sun represents the eight provinces that revolted against the Spanish Regime - who enslaved the Filipinos for many years - they are: Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Manila, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Tarlac. Gordon said that the ninth ray, which will be added soon, was proposed because behind each story of the great Filipino Heroes who fought for our country’s independence, lie the story of mostly forgotten Muslim heroes, including Lapu-lapu, Sultan Kudarat, and Rajah Sulayman, who were considered as the pioneering Heroes of the country by rejecting invaders during their time.

The reconciled bill will be ratified next week – last week of September 2009 - by the Senate and the House of Representatives, that states the including of another ray of the Philippine Flags’ sun.

Glasses

Recently, I noticed my eyes are not as good as before. I can no longer read signs or words from afar. Everything begins to fade when I look from a distance and so I concluded that something is wrong with my eyes and that I needed to do something about it.

First and the last thing came in to my mind was getting a glasses and hope that this might help my problem with my eyes. I’m afraid to wear glasses, that’s a fact, but I guess this time it’s inevitable. I’m afraid that I might depend with the convenience it provides me, thus I can no longer do anything without it.

I’m choosy when it comes to glasses (well, I’m just a customer wanting to have comfort with things or at least some things). It should have the right lens, the exact shade, the color, and the most important aspect that I look for is the glasses frame. Aside from the fact that the lens is also important, for me, having the right glasses frame is as delicate as choosing the right lens. Glasses frames are the ones supporting the entire glasses; this is the part which holds the entire weight of the glasses and at the same time puts the whole glasses together. This is also the part that will be shouldered above your nose and that part is one of the vital things you must look for, or shall I say I always look for.

As for me, I guess I have to start looking for the glasses of my desire. Then I will compare the prices of those if it is within my budget, and if it drops within, then maybe I will have to buy one. I think I’ll choose the what they call correctional glasses, maybe that’s what I need. Or, maybe I should see a doctor first to be sure. Whichever it is, I need glasses.

Something Within

Maybe it’s better to pretend to not hear anything about those promises made up in the stage of crowded individuals. Thus, we may not be dumbfounded to know that those promises were only just for show. “I will do this, I will do that”, that’s what they always say but I doubt if that’s what they always do. We are just a society too soaked on broken promises that we find it hard to believe in yet another promises made on stage. I wonder how they differentiate making a promise to someone and making promises to everyone. LIAR.

Sometimes it’s best to act as if you didn’t see a thing that you may have a peace of mind. We often see how they rob us in front of our very eyes, but we choose to be blind thinking that they are capable of doing something unwanted the moment we take a move on what we saw. Wrapped by fear, we saw nothing. CORRUPT.

It’s better for them not to say anything at all if they will just make a fool out of us. They play with our dreams and deceive our beliefs. They have these playful heart-warming words of uncertain truthfulness that breaks the difference between reality and natural fantasy. We utter words and they might just fall in deaf ears and in return gives us nothing but a devious smile. DECEITFUL.

Not to act would be our biggest mistake, nonetheless, you decide. FREEDOM.

A Key to Happiness

Often asked by people that I usually acquaint with, is how do they make themselves happy. And I honestly don’t have an idea on what to answer them, and thus I choose to dig a little deeper within what lies beneath the reason of our happiness and how do we obtain and get a grip of it.

I am happy. I am. And because of that I need not to find any reasons why or how or since when, ‘coz actually, I shouldn’t be questioning about it. But instead, I should be thankful. And that is what we should all must think about, not the shortcomings, not the failures, those are there that we might learn from them, not to regret about.

Not one of us asked to be sad. Not ever. We all do want to be happy. We all ask to be happy. And most of the times that our request is being granted are not in the way that we expect it to be. It comes in the simple things and pleasures in life. We are just too caught up waiting for what we have expected the way it would come, too busy that we fail to acknowledge that it’s already been granted, it’s already been there. Though, not in the way that we want it but God knows it’s the best way for us. He has his ways.

It is ok to be sad once in a while. That’s just normal for us to get depressed and stumble during our journey. That’s part of it. After all, how will you know what will make you happy if you wont know what will make you sad? Lots of things in life make us both happy and sad. That is called balance. They co-exist with each other. Without the other, the other is void. Life is not a one-way-street that you get to enjoy only the happy things there are. It’s a two way road that we are all in right now. And unless you begin to understand that sadness is part of being happy, you will never get over your self-titled world with fictional happiness that decorates it.

Be glad in whatever you do. Cherish your family and loved ones. Be true to yourself and do the things that are making you extremely happy and never feel bad of the things that you said because that’s just like trying to be sorry for being true.

I’m bad at parting words. But the only phrase I could say before this article ends. One of the simplest ways to stay happy is to avoid the things that are making you sad.

Stay HAPPY!!!!

Struggle

After a long vacation from my writing craft, I have returned to state what is rightfully to be told.

During those absence, I felt like I don’t want to write something or about anything, I felt like exhausted from life itself. My mind ran up dry from squeezing words for writing and so I decided to take a little break. I thought that maybe somehow I could store up on ideas and wisdom for me to deliver an even greater article the next time.

Lots of interesting things flooded my head but none of them seem to make any sense as I mold them into an article. Scenes stumbled upon each other that I couldn’t even figure out which one to start or which one to finish, but all of them seem to be too ambiguous that I couldn’t even decipher what I was aiming for as I continue to make the article. It seems that I always lost my focus in the midst of those paragraphs that I was writing.

It was hard. It felt like I was a failure in doing something I thought I do best at some time. I can’t pull those right words together. I couldn’t put any meaning to what I was writing that I just left them unfinished in the corner of my computers desktop. And I don’t want to gamble on posting an article that is half baked because I know that those who are reading these articles of mine deserves nothing but the best of my writing craft. Thus, articles pile up in me, in my head. And everywhere I go, it seems like there are lots of stories I wanted to tell, but I just can’t pull them off together. Still I waited.

And so, after bringing the pieces together, I’m back, to take what’s rightfully mine, to tell what is there to be told, and to face what is there to overcome, and to finally finish what I already started.

Let’s Dance

A gloomy day it is. The clouds are colored in gray as if it’s going to rain soon. The wind is blowing awkwardly within the surface of my skin. Here I am within the view of the skies as I recall all of my memories these past few years of living and have questioned myself more than once, “Have I done enough in life? Was it all worth it?”

These are the questions that I can’t even think of what my answers would be. I usually think over my answers to every question that I face but it seems that this one is different. I can’t even think straight whenever these questions come to mind. Many things floods through my head, reminiscing all the things that happened to me from the moment I realized the pain and joy of life above this earth.

I was thinking about those people I have acquainted with, whether I made their life a little bit different from the moment they meet me, may it be for the good or the other way around. Any way it was, I hope I made a little bit of a change.

I once saw this funeral in a Sunday afternoon. There were not so many people who came along with it and I came to also think about how it would be like when it’s about my time. Will there be few that will come along or will there be hundreds of thousands, and no matter how it may go, I hope, I really hope, that some would take time to come and finally accompany me to my final rest.

To all these, I am pretty much certain that I did well in dealing with this life’s worthwhile journey and it paints me a smile when I come to think about the people that treasures me well and about the people that I cherished the most.

Despite all the pains and hurts that we must get through, to me, living is beautiful, and if there’s any word that would describe it more than beautiful can, I would still say life is more than that. We all just need to see through all the dark curtains that decorate our rainbow filled living in order for us to see the complete combination of colors that God has ever painted, that’s us.

Life is too short to be lying around and doing nothing that would make a difference. So dance the music of life while the beat is still on, you don’t know when the rhythm will stop. Dance while you can!

Let us dance while we still can ‘coz we have done well.

Boundless...

I wish I can slide in that colorful rainbow that marked the ever blue sky. Then I would scream so much as I go down the slide with my hair all over the air and with my eyes filled with vague liquid substance. I would do it again and again until I can no longer scream, until I can no longer climb up and down that rainbow.

I would want to ride in a canoe in that untouched and seemingly green oceans. Then I would see dolphins and whales underneath the heaven of waters, and then they would jump across and over my canoe leaving me with amazement and in awe. I would run untiringly in that sugar like white sand in the seashore and leave footprints on it. I would create a castle using the sand.

I want to bath in the rain. I want to feel in my skin those drops of water as they come rushing down from the heavens. I would get wet under the rain while my jeans and shoes are still on. I would spin around like a wheel. I would dance together with the little ones as we bath in the streets. I would like to kiss my girl under the rain as we take shelter in a single umbrella then we would take the umbrella out and let the rain pour on us as we continue to savor the moment.

A place of boundless things. A moment in the absence of sufferings. A scene of delightful views. A journey of endless joy.

In the midst of its ambiguity, I want to dream BIG. I want to dream HIGH. I want to dream GOOD. I want to dream, I just want to dream and dream and keep dreaming.

I want to dream bounded with nothing but joy and happiness. At least in dreams, I can be happy for all eternity, regardless of the moment I wake up and face again what is reality.
